Imperial Yeast A31 Tartan

Tartan is a traditional, strain that accentuates the malt character of malty, strong Scottish ales. It can also be used for other styles (particularly IPAs) or in a production setting due to its clean character. For an increased ester profile, use this yeast at the higher end of the temperature range.

*NOTE:*During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.
